ISP Play-by-Play Announcers Honored

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Three ISP Sports play-by-play announcers have been honored as their state’s top sportscaster in 2009 by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA).  The organization will officially present both its state and national awards at the annual NSSA Awards Banquet on May 3rd in Salisbury, NC.

            The ISP honorees include Chris Stewart (Crimson Tide Sports Network / state of Alabama), Wes Durham (Georgia Tech ISP Sports Network / state of Georgia) and Steve Cotton (Marshall ISP Sports Network / state of West Virginia).

            “We are proud to have each of these outstanding broadcasters on our ISP team.”  ISP Chairman and CEO Ben Sutton says.  “While each has a different personal style, the energy and professionalism they bring to every broadcast is consistent and evident in the quality work all three produce as part of our network.

2009 ISP SPORTS NETWORK NSSA HONOREES

Steve Cotton – NSSA honoree for the second year in a row and eighth time in his career… 14th season as the “Voice of the Herd” in football and men’s basketball and 17th year overall as a member of the Marshall Thundering Herd broadcast crew.

Wes Durham – NSSA award winner for the sixth time (and 5th time in the last eight years) … 15th season broadcasting football and men’s basketball for the Yellow Jackets  … also play-by-play voice of the NFL Atlanta Falcons since 2004. 

Chris Stewart – honored by NSSA for the third straight year (4th time overall) … eighth year as CTSN men’s basketball play-by-play man … also lead announcer for pay per view and delayed telecasts of 2009 national champion Crimson Tide football team and Alabama baseball
