Finances are important, of course, but personal participation is even more vital to ISP’s commitment to its corporate home.
Employees are provided numerous opportunities to become personally involved in a variety of charitable causes throughout the year. Recent examples include elementary school mentoring, volunteering at the local Ronald McDonald House, and raising funds for the area Big Brothers Big Sisters chapter with two bowling teams in that organization’s annual fund-raiser.
Away from the workplace, ISP employees are strongly encouraged to participate in local recreation programs (the company fields a coed softball team), their local church, civic club or other charitable organization. ISP staff willingly take their lunch hour or will re-structure their office schedule in order to stay active in these pursuits.
“We want our people to be involved,” Sutton states. “We strive to provide them with opportunities on the company level and will never stand in the way of their personal involvement with organizations or causes that are meaningful to them on the personal level. This is true both in our corporate office and in each of our regional offices all over the country.
